Rajini is teh highest paid actor in the country.
Rajinikanth enjoys a strong political clout in Tamilnadu, even though he has never known to have misused the clout. It was only Rajini who could invite arch rivals Jayalalitha and M Karunanidhi to his daughter, Saundarya's wedding' recently.
Politically active, Raijnikanth supported Congress in Mid 90s, but when congress joined hands with AIADMK, he withdrew support and joined DMK-TMC alliance. Later he moved to BJP-AIADMK. It is said that his fans wanted to float a party in his name, but he was not in favour of that. He went on a fast to show protest against Karnataka's decision to not release water to Tamil Nadu in 2002.
In 1983, Rajinikanth entered Hindi films with 'Andha Kanoon'.
He has acted in one English film, 'Blood Stone', where he played a cab driver. Raijni made an attempt to write screenplay in 'Veera' but the film didn't do well. His movie 'Muthu' was dubbed in Japanese and was called 'The dancing Maharaja'.
Every one knows that he worked as a bus conductor in Bangalore. But he also used to do stage plays. He would practice stunts on his own.
