    No One Killed Jessica
    Everyone is aware of the Jesica Lall murder case which had become the topic of decision for almost everyone. 'No One Killed Jessica' is entirely based on the Lall case where Vidya Balan plays Sabrina Lall, Jessica's sister. Rani Mukherji plays the role of a reporter who was associated in solving and giving media coverage to the entire case.

    Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai
    Directed by Milan Lutharia, the film had Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. The film is said to be loosely based on the lives of Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim. During his time Haji Mastan and Madhubala had an alleged affair and he even produced some movies for her. In this film Kangna who plays Ajay's love interest is an actress. Haji was always clad in pure white designer wear and carried a pack of imported cigarettes in hand like Ajay's character in the film. Many such small similarities can be drawn between Ajay's character on screen and the life of Haji Mastan.

    Rakta Charitra
    The film, divided in two parts is based on the life of Paritala Ravindra a political leader from Andhra Pradesh. He was assassinated by his rivals. Where Vivek Oberoi played Ravindra, Surya played Maddelacheruvu Suri, and Shatrughan Sinha played the legendary actor N. T. Rama Rao in real life. The film is a complete biography on Paritala's life and his rise to power till his death.

    Shootout At Lokhandwala
    Apoorva Lakhia's direction told the story of the one time notorious gangster Maya Doglas. Although not all the incidents in the film are a direct take on his life but is constructed around the reality. The film enacts the famous 1991 Lokhandwala Complex shootout, a real-life gun battle between Maya's gangsters and the Mumbai Police. In reality, the shootout lasted for four hours and resulted in the death of all the seven gangsters who were hiding in a flat. The operation was led by ATS officer Aftab Ahmed Khan played by Sanjay Dutt in the film.

    Oye Lucky Lucky Oye
    The film starring Abhay Deol is inspired from the life of 'Superchor' Devendra Bunty. He was last seen as a contestant in Bigg Boss' house. The film shows how Abhay as the thief outsmarted people and the cops. He robbed almost anything from rich homes including cars, music systems, jewellery, television sets, and once even a pet dog.

    Shoot On Sight
    Directed by Jag Mundhra, the film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri. The film is based on 'Operation Kratos' which was initiated after the London bombings on 7th July 2005. 'Operation Kratos' was a policy to shoot on sight anyone the police doubted to be a suicide bomber. On July 7th, London saw a series of suicide bombings on the public transport. The police somehow figured out the terrorists and cornered them. They followed a suspect Jean Charles de Menezes who got on the tube station. Fearing that he was one of the suicide bombers, the Metropolitan police shot seven bullets directly on his head. Later on, it was confirmed that he was an innocent and was in no way connected to the bombings. 'Shoot on Sight' is the story of a police officer who is asked to track down suicide bombers and accidentally kills an innocent Muslim man.

    This Ram Gopal Varma movie was a collaboration of characters he met in some point of his life. Some who belonged to the underworld and some who didn't. All the characters fell into place as the story was created. All though the story was fictional, the characters were real and it was their life that defined each one's character. Kallu Mama's character was inspired from a gangster he met at the bar, Satya's character was based on someone who Varma met at the court and told Ramu his story.

    Black Friday
    This film narrates the incidents of 1993 bomb blasts in Bombay. The movie got all its ground work done through S. Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Black Friday'. The movie chronologically describes the planning and names some of the people responsible for it. The film had a difficult release in Mumbai, however, the Festivals welcomed it and the film received accolades.

    Accident on Hill Road
    The film starring Celina Jaitley and Farooq Sheikh was inspired from an incident (read accident) that took place in US. Celina's character was based on a woman named Chante Jawan Mallard who was convicted for her role in the death of a 37-year-old homeless man, Gregory Glen Biggs. Mallard was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and accidentally struck Gregory who got stuck in the windshield bleeding. In stead of giving him medical attention she took the car to her garage and later disposed the body making it seem like an accident along with some friends. The movie is entirely based on this accident.
