"Anjaana Anjaani is releasing on Oct 1. Period " - Siddharth Anand
If Siddharth Anand is exasperated; he is making an honest attempt not to show it. After spending a couple of years on Anjaana Anjaani and then patiently spending a week in anticipation of his much cherish dream to finally release after a forced postponement, he was shocked to hear about the root cause - 'Court judgement on Ayodhya issue' - being deferred.
Tongues started wagging all over again and there were murmurs that the makers would be looking at further movement in the release plans. While producer Sajid Nadiadwala has already announced that there won't be any change in plans with the Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer all set for 1st October release, Siddharth too is vociferous about the flip-flop that was never a part of the plan.
"Anjaana Anjaani is not moving ahead at all. 1st October is the best time for the film to arrive. Period", exclaims Siddharth the moment he is questioned about the release plans for Anjaana Anjaani, his first film outside Yash Raj Films banner.
He is also amused with the way the entire series of events have unfolded.
"First we moved because it seemed almost certain that the verdict would be announced on 24th September. Now when the Court says that they would be meeting again on 28th September, I am almost certain that the case would be further deferred. I guess enough is enough. Why to hold on to our concrete release plans to make way for some external decision which is anyways so uncertain", asks Siddharth with a hint of irritation on his voice.
In fact many even believe that the case may continue for a much longer period of time, courtesy the ongoing battle that the nation is anyways facing with the CWG mess. With quite some machinery already in charge of the CWG security, Kashmir going through its own persistent issues and floods impacting movement in the Northern part of India, the Government can't be expected to announce verdict on Ayodhya issue and entice further reactions.
"We have anyways been ashamed enough due to CWG so I am almost sure that the nation can't really afford any verdict of sorts which is bound to have sentimental values attached for citizens of the country", Siddharth reasons, "In my opinion, this judgement could well be heading for an out of court settlement. While country's esteemed knowledgeable people of up there with decision making capabilities doing their own thing, we are taking our step towards the release of Anjaana Anjaani."
Looks like the makers have pretty much made up their minds this time around!
