Box office report - Lamhaa, Tere Bin Laden, Udaan and Inception
The last weekend wasn’t so good for Bollywood. With average to dull opening for all its three releases, the box office couldn’t set the cash registers ringing. However, it was the Hollywood film Inception that ruled the roost.
If Lamhaa opened to 30-35% response, which was below average, ‘Tere Bin Laden’ marked a dull 20-25% opening and the critically acclaimed Udaan as expected had a 15-20% opening at the multiplexes. Among these three, the reports of Tere Bin Laden are fairly good as the movie picked up a bit on Saturday.
Ali Zafar starrer ‘Tere Bin Laden’ gave a tough competition to the big release ‘Lamhaa’. Talking about past releases, Milenge Milenge grossed around Rs 8 crore in its first week. While, the collection of I Hate Luv Storys showed a drop in its second week, but it doesn’t matter as the movie already did a remarkable business in its week one.
Coming to this year’s much awaited Christopher Nolan’s film Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio, the movie, released in four languages, received an overwhelming response from the Indian audience. The BIG Cinemas trade reports say that the weekend occupancies were very strong, ranging from as high as 94%, and the movie can earn a better revenue in coming days.
As per reports, here are the weekend figures:
Inception - Rs 5.60 crore approx
Lamhaa - Rs 5.50 crore approx
Tere Bin Laden - Rs 3.75 crore approx
Udaan - Rs 1.15 crore approx...being a human...
