Kirsten worried about Indian bowling optionsIndia’s cricket coach, Gary Kirsten has said that he was disappointed with the way the Indian pace bowlers have come about in the last few months. Speaking to a website, he said that despite trying out more than a dozen fast bowlers, the Indian selectors have not been able to select those who will serve the country for the time to come.
Kirsten said that the reason behind this was that the bowlers had failed to grasp their opportunities.
Kirsten was referring to the two years and seven months that he was with the team. He said that the 15-16 options were a lot of them, and the side needed to “settle on the few who can get through.”
Despite Ishant Sharma’s obvious fall from the kind of bowler that he once was, Kirsten said that one needed to be patient with him. Kirsten said that Ishant had all the potential in the world and with age and experience, he should come good.
Kirsten also added that Irfan Pathan was not the right choice at the number six position in Test match cricket, because his bowling had fallen away a lot....being a human...
