Liverpool Valuated Fernando Torres at £100 Million
Liverpool has put a staggering £100 million price tag on their Spanish forward Fernando Torres who has been a target of Premier League champion Chelsea. The news of this valuation has come at a time when the Spaniardís hopes of being in Spainís starting line up against Netherlands in the World Cup final are hanging in the balance.
Chelsea has recently made a £30 million bid for the 26-year-old striker who joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid in 2007. However, he was out of action for a long time during the last season and it was one of the major reasons behind the heavy downfall of the Merseyside club.
Recently, Torresí agent indicated that he could move away from Liverpool this summer. He is now reportedly interested to move to a club that would be able to offer Champions League football.
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is interested to keep hold on Fernando Torres. Earlier, he revealed that captain Gerrard could commit his future to Liverpool by snubbing Real Madrid. Now, if Torres insists a move in the Summer, then Liverpool would definitely like to make some quick cash in on the player and further re-invests in the transfer market.
Manchester City is also highly interested in Fernando Torres, but City can not offer Champion League football and it is less likely that he would consider a move to Eastlands.
Overall, Liverpoolís first priority is to convince the player to stay, but if he really wants a move, then naturally the club would not let him go cheap....being a human...
