Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock are Engaged and Happily Waiting for the Wedding
South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock and Prince Albert II of Monaco have been engaged. A statement released by the royal palace has revealed the news. However, it did not reveal any possible marriage date. As per the royal protocol, this engaged couple would now have to wait for at least 6 months before getting married.
With this marriage, House of Grimaldi would get its first princess since the death of the Hollywood actress Grace Kelly who was married to Prince Rainier III, the father of the reigning prince of Monaco. It is believed that this engagement would surface some solace over the unfortunate death of Princes Kelly who died in a car accident 1982.
Born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (currently Zimbabwe) in 1978, Charlene Wittstock started swimming at a very early age and represented South Africa in women's 4×100 m medley event in Olympics Games 2000. Though South Africa finished fifth in the event, Charlene continued her career and became South Africa’s no. 1 50 m women’s backstroke swimmer in 2007.
