Till date, all the news reports on Raavan talked about Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchana, Vikram and Mani Ratnam but our very favorite Govinda also played a role in Raavan and he is very happy about it.

On June 14, 2010, a special screening Raavan was arranged at the Film City Adlabs. All the cast and crew of the film attended the screening. Govinda also came to the screening and he was very happy the way his role came out in the movie.

A reliable source said, “He was so thrilled that he couldn’t stop grinning,……He joined the team for a party at Shaad Ali’s Juhu residence and left only at about 3 am saying he had to wake up early as it was his wife Sunita’s birthday the following day.”

In Raavan, Govinda played the role of Sanjeevani Kumar (Hanumaan).

Mani Ratnam, director of the movie, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram partied till dawn. Mani Ratnam and Vikram had flown all the way from Chennai to attend the screening. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai bachchan were very busy giving pre-release interviews and they came when the party was ending.

At the party, the cast and crew talked about their experience of shooting the movie. Interestingly, they had a bet on Govinda’s reporting time. In Bollywood, Govinda aka Chichi, is very well known for arriving sets late. Unfortunately, Govinda reached the sets at the right time at 6 a.m. in the first two days. This made them unhappy and they thought that Govinda would not be able to come on time on the third day.

Nikhil Dwivedi donned a tonsure hair cut to play the role of a police officer. Earlier, the actor flown down his stylist, Dilshad, to crop his hair but then Mani Ratnam did not like it. Later, a local barber cut Dwivedi’s hair.
