Govinda upsets ‘Raavan’ team
Govinda’s presence at IIFA Awards 2010 held in Sri Lanka has created an unnecessary trouble for the movie Raavan prior to its release.
As the ‘Raavan’ makers are looking forward to a mammoth opening in the south with its Telugu and Tamil versions releasing simultaneously with the Hindi version this Friday, Govinda’s appearance at Colombo has miffed the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce.
The body has issued a warning that it would boycott the films of all the actors and technicians who have attended IIFA in Colombo. Earlier, director Mani Ratnam was planning an IIFA screening for ‘Raavan’, but because of the boycott call from Tamil protesters, he chose not to showcase the film there. In fact, the lead pair of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, who are regular at IIFA every year gave the event a miss this time. Now the team of ‘Raavan’ is upset with Chi Chi’s nonchalant attitude towards the film.
The buzz is also that Govinda is not so happy with Mani and the way his character (Hanuman) has shaped up in the movie, leaving him a shorter screen presence. And attending IIFA was his way to show his displeasure. Not only that, Chi Chi even performed with good buddy Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor at the awards night....being a human...
