The US technology giant, Apple, has offered refund to the customers in Australia in lieu to false advertising of the latest iPad installment. The new iPad, boasts of 4G network support, does not work on local 4G frequency in Australia.

The Australian consumer commission has taken Apple to the Federal Court in lieu to the false advertising over its iPad with Wi-Fi and 4G promotions.

According to the lawyers of Apple, the firm is prepared to publish clarification about the new iPadís Australian capabilities. The firm is also prepared to refund any customers who felt that they had been misled by the 4G reference, the lawyers said.

Apple attorney Paul Anastassiou revealed that the firm expects that very few customers would seek refund claiming that they were misled.

The firm claims that the latest tablet works on what is globally accepted to be a 4G network.

On its website, Apple does state that 4G LTE is only supported on selected networks in the US and Canada.

The case is subjected to go on full trial on May 2.
