Light and battery free polarised glasses are what I shall prioritze along with FPR technology and wide viewing angles while planning to buy a new 3D TV. Thanks!

What about battery operated glasses? are these better than the normal 3D glasses which use films?

Polarised glasses are better than battery operated heavy 3D glasses. But it works best with a TV which has FPR technology.

Why are some glasses battery free? do the give similar picture qualities to that of glasses with batteries?

TV's that have FPR technology hav battery free glass and the ones that don't, have glasses with battery. No. they do not give similar picture qualities but the battery free glasses give a far better picture quality than that of glasses with battery.
