Today the talented personality, Dilip Joshi is seen, acknowledged and appreciated as Jethalal Champaklal Gada in SAB TV’s super-hit show, Taraak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (Neela Telefilms). In conversation with us, Dilip spoke about his journey and experience with the show.

He stated, “Well, firstly in my real life I am not at all like Jethalal. When this role was initially offered to me, I never ever thought that the show would do so well and that I would get a role which would take me to the notch of popularity. I am proud to be essaying this character now. It is very easy to make people cry but difficult to make people laugh and I am happy to possess this talent.”

Dilip expresses that the best part about being an actor is that one gets to live many lives in the one life that he has. He feels it is an achievement that he has played his role so very convincingly that the fans have forgotten his real identity and personality.

Elaborating on the popularity the show has brought him, he averred, “I have been working from 20 to 25 years now. Today I work for 14 to 15 hours a day where I try to put in my 100 percent towards essaying this character and I feel delighted when people appreciate my work.”

Going down the memory lane, Dilip also expressed a fan encounter which he had with a army man. He excitedly expressed, “There was this fan who was a military officer posted at Kargil. When I met him he told me that when army men return to their base and they watch Taraak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, they find it extremely entertaining.”

When we asked him about the kind of role that he would prefer to take after playing the iconic role of Jetha the man said, “Kal kisne dekha hai? Kal ka kal sochenge…For now I would just request my fans to keep yourselves entertained through Taraak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and keep showering your love.”
    Well said Dilip!!!
