    Default Fremantle India’s P.I. for Star Plus; Mrinal, Vrajesh, Aamir, Sandhya roped in

    Fremantle India, which has given the television viewing audience the joy of listening to some enchanting and great music through their Indian Idol series over the years, will now come up with a fiction show on Star Plus.

    P.I., will be the title of the show, which would mean ‘Private Investigator’. As the name suggests, this finite series will be a one-of-its-kind detective thriller wherein a special kid, just out of his teens, will be investigating various crime-related cases.

    Now, moving on to the cast – Young lad Mrinal Dutt, who has featured in a TV series by name Roomies, has been roped in to play the central lead character of the detective. Mrinal has also done MTV Webbed in the past.

    Giving him company will be some big names of TV and Bollywood industry.

    Talented actor Vrajesh Hirjee, known for his comic roles in movies has been roped in to play the role of a cop. Vrajesh has done films like Krrish 3, Golmaal 3, Golmaal Returns, Heyy Baby, Salaam-E-Ishq, Fanaa and many more. On TV, he was seen in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, Bhai Bhaiiya Aur Brother, Zor Ka Jhatka and Bigg Boss 6.

    Another big name in the show will be actor Aamir Bashir, who started his acting career with a TV series on Sony TV, Alpviram. The guy has gone on to be part of movies like Sarhadein, Armaan, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Frozen, A Wednesday, Peepli Live and the recent one Haider.

    Also, very talented Sandhya Mridul whose top-notch performance in Koshish Ek Aasha is remembered even today will play a pivotal role in P.I. Sandhya has films like Hubahu, Saathiya, Page 3, Honeymoon Travels, Ragini MMS 2 and many more to her credit. She has also been part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on TV.

    We hear that the shoot for the series has already begun, and the maker and channel are shooting some breathtaking stuff pertaining to action. The series will focus on episodic stories with these central characters solving the cases.

    When contacted, Vrajesh confirmed that he is presently shooting for the show.

    We could not get through to Mrinal, while Aamir asked us to call him later.

    Our efforts to reach Sandhya proved futile.

    We tried contacting Anupama Mandloi, MD, Fremantle India but did not get through to her.

    We also buzzed a channel spokesperson, but did not get any revert on this piece of news.
