Salman Butt will be the vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team for the tour of England and for the Asia Cup to be held later this month. Butt will deputize to Shahid Afridi, who will lead the side.

Earlier, it was said that Butt could be made the skipper, but Afridiís agreement to play Test matches as well, meant that Afridi was allowed to captain the side.

Butt had then said that despite the captaincy been a job of great honour and pride, he would like to focus on his batting and think of the job, if and when it happened.

Pakistan will play India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the Asia Cup, (Click here for full schedule of Asia Cup) and then feature in five Tests and a few ODIs and T20Is against Australia and England in England.
