Tottenham Midfielder Luka Modric is on his way to Old Trafford.
According to a report published in UK tabloid The Sun, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has offered 25million for the highly-rated midfielder, which could rise to as much as 30m based on appearances and success.

The report says that Modric, 26, will be handed a four-year deal.

His wages of 125,000 a week will put him among the big earners at Old Trafford.

Modric is currently with his national side, Croatia in Ukraine for Euro 2012, and has reportedly kept pace with the talks between the two clubs.
Modric has been a target for top English clubs since last season when he made his desire to play in Champions League public. Tottenham were knocked out of the elite European competition after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich to lift the title.

Spurs held off interest from Chelsea to hold on to the midfielder last year. But after the Blues signed Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard, it seems Chelsea's desire for Modric has cooled off. Also, the midfielder realises that he doesn't stand getting as many first team appearances with Mata and Hazard set to take up the central midfielder positions.
Harry Redknapp has stoutly maintained that Modric is not for sale, but with doubts over Redknapp's future at White Hart Lane mounting, it was expected that Tottenham may lose some of their top stars like Modric, Bale and Van Der Vaart.
Tottenham have already lost their other Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar who has left the English side for Ukranian football club Dynamo Kiev.
