Default Anderson called up for England T20

England's James Anderson is set to play his first Twenty20 international since 2009 with Steven Finn in doubt due to injury.

Anderson has not played for England in the shortest form of the game since November 2009 in a match away to South Africa.

But the 30-year-old fast bowler has been brought back into England's squad that will face the Proteas on Saturday as a possible replacement for Finn, who has a problem with his back.

Finn did not play in England's one-day international against the South Africans on Wednesday because of his back injury and there are doubts he will be fit in time for Saturday's game in Durham.

Interestingly, Anderson has not been picked in England's squad for the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka later this month.

Anderson has a bowling average of 30.66 in international T20 matches with best figures of 3-23.

Saturday's match in Durham is the first of three T20s between England and South Africa.
