    Values of select ferrous and non-ferrous metals today ruled better on heavy buying support from stockists in view of strong advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.



    In ferrous metal category (per quintal), copper heavy, copper utensils went up by Rs 100 each. Similarly brass utensils and brass cuttings also rose by Rs 100 and Rs 150 repsctively on fresh demand from industrial users induced by bullish advice from LME along with Koltaka, Delhi and other centres. But aluminium utensils eased by Rs 100 on poor demand, traders said.

    Among non-ferrous metals (per quintal), copper wire bars, and lead ingots too rose by Rs 200 and Rs 100 respectively on renewed buying support from stockists. Tin slab also gained Rs five per quintal on fresh demand from industrial users induced by bullish advice from LME along with Delhi, Kolkata and other centres, traders added.

    Following were the spot metal prices per quintal in Rupees.

    Ferrous metals: Copper heavy: Rs 35,700, Copper utensils: Rs 33,200, Brass utensils: Rs 25,400, Brass cuttings Rs 26,200 Aluminium utensils Rs 9,400.

    Non ferrous metals: Copper wire bars: Rs 39,100, Aluminium ingot: Rs 11,700, Zinc slab: Rs 14,000, Lead ingot: Rs 10,500. Tin slab: Rs 905 Nickel cathode: Rs 947 (per kg).
