PepsiCo Inc chairman and chief executive Indra Nooyi received $17.1 million as compensation in 2011, which stands 5.8% increase from her 2010 package.

The increment is mainly due to a 23% jump in Indra Nooyi's base salary. She got her first raise in five years as CEO and a gain in the value of her retirement benefits at PepsiCo Inc., according to Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Indra Nooyi, aged 56, is the chief executive at PepsiCo Inc. since 2006, received a 2011 annual incentive award of $2.5 million, 22% below her performance-based target. She also received a 2011 long-term incentive award valued at $9.4 million.

Coca-Cola’s CEO Muhtar Kent had also witnessed first raise in salary last year since becoming CEO in 2008 as his base salary went from $1.2 million to $1.4 million.
