12th ODI Match - Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur

    On Feb 28, 2011 from 09:30 Local | 04:00 GMT |

Canada would take on Zimbabwe in the 12th ODI match of the ICC World Cup 2011. The match will be hosted at Nagpur. Schedule time of Match is 09:30 Local Time (04:00 GMT). The match is schedule to be played on Feb 28, 2011. The match would be played in day time.

    Match Odds
The stadium will be fairly empty as this is a match between two minnows. That being said, this will also be Zimbabwe’s best chance of winning a world cup match as Canada are a fairly inexperienced side. The odds of Zimbabwe winning are currently (1/4). Zimbabwe will look to bat first, put up a big score and then put pressure on the Canadian batsmen.

    Featured Bet
For Zimbabwe to win this match, they will need to ensure they get off to a good start and that means Brendan Taylor will have to fire at the top of the order. He has the experience and the stroke play to take the attack to the Canadian bowlers and will be a strong contender for the man of the match award.

    Match Predictions
The side that wins the toss will look to bat first. Zimbabwe will hold their nerve and win this match.

Zimbabwe will clash with Canada in the 12th game of the cricket World Cup 2011 played at the VCA in Nagpur on February 28. The two sides had a bad start to the tournament, as they lost their opening games and would be eyeing their first win here.

Between the two, Zimbabwe had a better start after they managed to restrict the Aussies to only 65/1 in the first 20 overs. Unfortunately, the lack of backup support for the bowling made it difficult for the Zimbabweans to thwart the Aussie batsmen and despite lacking a huge hitter of the ball, they managed 200 in the last 30.
Canada restricted the Sri Lankans in the first few overs but once the pair of Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara got going, there was no looking back. Sri Lanka made 332 and won by 210.

    The Teams:
Zimbabwe will continue to rely on their spin department as they have continued to do in the games leading up to and in the first match of the tournament. In all probability, the Zimbabweans will continue to open with a slow bowler – one of Ray Price or Prosper Utseya.

It will also be interesting to see whether the Zimbabweans will look to get in Greg Lamb if fit, and if so, in place of which cricketer.
Canada will probably look to play a similar side but most importantly, they need Rizwan Cheema to probably bat higher up the order. John Davison’s form has been of concern and the Canadian side needs a start from him – whether or not it is his usual-quick is beside the point.
    Why watch this match?

Looking back into the tournament, of the first 9 games, there was only one match that went even slightly close to being right down to the wire was the Ireland-Bangladesh game. Probably, only the lesser known sides possess that capability? And yes, there is an obvious hope that Davison will break some records. Dream, will be a better word probably.

    Players to look out for:

Zimbabwe will need Brendan Taylor to get going with the bat while Canada will look to their opening bowlers, Henry Osinde and Khurram Chohan to give them a decent start
