    Tip #1: Cleanliness is Key

Perhaps it is not news to you that washing your face regularly will help to keep breakouts at bay. But do you know exactly how to wash your face properly? First, begin with a cleanser for your skin type, and avoid a lot of additional fragrances and ingredients that might irritate your skin and give you more issues than when you started. Use a clean washcloth with every washing to avoid putting bacteria and other substances back on your skin from previous washing. Finish off with a cool water rinse that will close pores and give you a healthy glow.

    Tip #2: Don’t Touch!

Messing with your skin is only going to cause more trouble, so keep your hands away from your face as much as possible. The touch-free zone should apply to your hair as well, so pin it back as much as possible. It is a good idea to wear a headband or ponytail at night as well, so your hair doesn’t fall on your face while you are sleeping and contribute to more blemishes in the morning.

    Tip #3: Relax and Rest

Getting plenty of rest and avoiding stress is good for you in so many ways. It shouldn’t be any surprise that you skin will benefit from these healthy habits as well. Find ways to deal with your stress, whether it is deep breathing exercises, yoga or the occasional massage. Getting your forty winks every nights will also give skin a chance to rest and rejuvenate, leaving it looking clearer and healthier as well. Make sure that you are sleeping on a clean pillowcase every night so that your shut eye does not contribute to oil and bacteria buildup on your face.

Tip #4: Take it Off Every Night

Your makeup, that is. There are few things that you can do to clog your pores and contribute to breakouts more than sleeping in your makeup products. A clean face is a happy one for sleeping, so take off your face with a makeup remover or a gentle soap and water.

    Tip #5: Choose Wisely

Anything that you put on your skin should be oil-free, whether it is your cleansing products, makeup or moisturizer. Even better – find an oil-free moisturizer with a built in SPF, so that your sunscreen does not contribute to your breakout issue. Another word to look for in your cosmetics is non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog pores.

By following these five easy tips, you will be on the road to clearer, healthier skin. Say goodbye to breakouts and hello to a healthy glow!
