    Scoreline: T&T 149/7 Will Perkins 38 (32), Kieron Pollard 31 (14) | Fidel Edwards 3 wickets
    Deccan Chargers knocked out 146/9 – Adam Gilchrist 51 (36) | Dwayne Bravo 4-24-3

Trinidad & Tobago are perhaps the only team in this League with an appeal that transcends local/nationalistic allegiances. And two games down, they’re already looking the Pakistan of the tournament in their ability to knock down anyone on days they get it right.

After Deccan’s loss to Somerset, I felt they’d shown something in the loss that made them likely winners of CL 2009. What a flat call because it was a scrappy side that turned up today (barring Fidel and the big-match man). A team loses because the team loses. But a couple of players have been holding on to their places in the side for a long while now in anticipation of a game like this – Venuugopal Rao and T Suman. While Rao yet again flattered only to deceive – an aspect of his batting he’s been honing since IPL 2008, Suman looked very much the ****y-strokes-for-nothing-much player he’s been for Deccan since his debut with the ****iness replaced by nerves.

These are the days Harsha feels alive.
