I've always heard about how this book was amazing. Yesterday I got it, and last night I could hardly put it down, no matter how much my sleep was overcoming me. I finished it the first thing in the morning. It is a heart touching, soul shaking book. It's by Khaled Hosseini.
The book revolves around the lives of two children, Amir and Hassan. The differences between them unbelievable, yet a bond joining them that no one could have rose against. As a event in the book seperates both boys, leaving Amir growing up, and realizing, and living a life....that had him bury his past way behind. Again he is faced back to the reality he had once turned his face to, and now his turn to make the choice, either the right or the wrong.

It is very interesting, and more than that very touching.
Yes, its one of my favorite books now.
I can't wait to get A Thousand Splendid Suns by him now, and hopefully it will touch me just as much.

I read both the books in one go couple of months back. As sarah says, the story revolves around the two boys who have a relationship of both servant-master n friends. The guilt of an incident is carried by the rich boy beyond his childhood....... The best quote in the entire book is :-
Boys treat friendship the way they treat the sun -
its existence undisputed, its radiance best enjoyed not beheld directly !

A thousand splendid suns is the story of Mariam & her defiance. Happy reading sarah, hope you write a review soon !

Oh Cray, I loved the quote

"For you, a thousand time's over."
It really makes me smile every time I read it, and at the same time it hurts, because of how full of depth it is. Thank you, I surely will soon enough.
