Actress Neha Dhupia is all set to share screen space with Emraan Hashmi in Karan Johar’s next home production to be directed by Rensil D’Silva

“Yes, I have been signed for this film. I can’t talk much about it. There are other two films of mine that are coming out- ‘Maximum’ and ‘Rush’,” Dhupia said.

The film will also star Sanjay Dutt, Kangana Ranuat, Randeep Hooda and is likely to roll out later this year. Earlier, Karan had said, “The film has a strong ensemble cast, like Emraan, lots of people are there in it like Kangana, Randeep Hooda and host of young brilliant actors.

We will announce the film with title and cast very soon. It is about individual paths, there is no predominant love story. It is too early to talk about it.”

Recently, Dhupia attended Karan Johar’s 40th birthday bash. Besides, KJo’s film, the actress will be next seen in Kabeer Kaushik’s crime thriller, ‘Maximum’.

The project also features Naseeruddin Shah, Sonu Sood, Vinay Pathak in pivotal roles and will hit theatres on June 29. Her other project ‘Rush’ is again a thriller directed by late Shamin Desai.

The film stars Emraan Hashmi and Aditya Pancholi. After the death of Desai, the project is being completed by wife Priyanka under Percept Picture Company.

    Still not many women-oriented films

Neha is glad that the portrayal of women on the big screen is changing from the homely, simple and innocent character to a bolder and stronger one. She is however not sure how long this transition will last.

“It is a great thing that filmmakers have started looking at women characters with a different perspective. But we need to see how long it will last,” Neha told in an interview.

“It’s not like Madhur (Bhandarkar) wasn’t doing it before. There were directors who have worked with actresses like Rekha and Sridevi. Now just because you have a film like ‘The Dirty Picture’, it doesn’t mean the change is happening everywhere.

“I can’t name more than one film like that. There are not many such women-oriented films being made. There may be one or maximum two. It has always been a male-dominated industry. But it is changing, which is a good thing,” she added.
