    Default Vidya Balan's 'dirty act' bags National Award

    Honourable Vice President of M Hamid Ansari bestowed the prestigious 59th National Film Awards to winners in the capital on Thursday. The awards that are usually presented by the President each year, were given away by Mr Ansari in lieu of President Pratibha Patil's foreign visit.

    Bollywood's 'Midas touch' sensation Vidya Balan bagged the coveted National Award, in the category of Best Actress.

    This prestigious honour comes after Vidya won all the major popular awards. We caught up with Vidya right before the awards were announced in March and when quizzed about the National Award, the actress said, “I have given my hundred percent and have garnered loads of appreciation from my audience, which actually is my award. But, it really is a sense of pride, when one wins National award.”

    Best Actor- Girish Kulkari (Deeol)
    Best Hindi Film- I Am
    Best Costume Designer- Niharika Khan (The Dirty Picture)/ Neeta Lulla (Bal Gandharva)
    Best Sound Design- Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
    Best Screenplay Original- Vikal Behl/Nitesh Tiwari (Chillar Party)
    Best Child Artiste- Partho Gupte (Stanley Ka Dabba)/ Cast of Chillar Party
    Best Children's Film- Chillar Party
    Best Special Effects- Ra.One

    Best Choreographer- Bosco-Caeser (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara)

    Best Lyrics- Amitabh Bhattacharya (I Am)

    Best Make Up- Vijram Gaekwad (The Dirty Picture)/ Bal Gandharva

    Best Supporting Actor- Appu Kutty

    Best Feature Film- Deool and Pyaari

    Best Bengali Film- Ranjana Ami Aar Ashbona

    Special Jury Award- Anjan Dutta

    Best Editing- Praveen KL (Aranyaa Kandam)

    Best Female Playback Singer- Rupa Ganguly

    Best Male Playback Singer- Anand Bhate for Bal Gandharva

    Special Mention- Director Shari (Adi Madhyantam- Malayalam Film) and Mallika (Byari Film)

    Best Debut Film By A Director- Aranya Kaandam (Tamil)

    Default Vidya Balan receives National Award!

    She is one actress in Bollywood, who is bold, beautiful and super talented . Well, we are talking about Vidya Balan. Bollywood is truly lucky to have found her. The actress received the National Award from the Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari in New Delhi for her superb performance in The Dirty Picture, on Thursday.

    Vidya, donned a rose pink-coloured Kanjeevaram saree and needless to say, she looked stunning as always.

    Vidya Balan after having recieved the award, told reporters,
    “I am extremely humbled. This (National Award) is the highest honour for any actor, and I feel happy and humbled and I just wish that the team of The Dirty Picture was with me to share this moment. This is truly humbling,”.

    Vidya’s parents had accompanied her to the event. What was interesting is that her boyfriend Siddharth Roy Kapur was also presnet at the same event, receiving the award for Chillar Party (Best Children’s Film) on behalf of UTV.

    The 59th National Film Awards ceremony was a grand event.
