Default John kept waiting for three hours

John Abraham is not really a regular at awards events. But when he made an exception recently, it turned out to be not the kind of experience he would have liked. The actor, who along with the rest of the cast and crew of 'Shootout at Wadala' was there to promote the film, was reportedly kept waiting for more than three hours, thanks to some mismanagement backstage. And the actor, known for his equanimity, gave the organisers a piece of his mind.

An eye-witness told TOI, "John had arrived at the venue around 8 pm and was in his vanity van. A couple of hours later a representative of the event management company asked him to step out for his segment. He readily obliged. But once he reached backstage, he realised the stage was still occupied by Ranbir Kapoor. He turned back gloomily." What made matters worse was that John had to wait for another hour or so before he could join rest of the Shootout cast on stage. And this did not agree with him at all.

Eye-witnesses claim, John let off some serious steam at what he considered was sheer unprofessionalism on the part of the organisers. There are several versions of what he may have said to the organisers, but sources close to him say the company had it coming. "John never uses bad language and people who know him will swear by his polite behaviour. It was gross mismanagement on the part of the organisers and had nothing to do with the hosts. In fact, he has only the deepest respect for them," said his friend.

When TOI got in touch with the actor, he said he was quite upset with the tardiness on the part of the event managers. "I am not the kind to report late for any appointment. I respect everyone's time and I expect others to respect my time too," he said.
