Is it Imran's talent or his big nose
One 'Jaane Tu yaa…jaane na' changed a whole lot of things for Imran Khan. Now Aamir's nephew who's yet to display his versatility is being considered for a literary role as well.

Imran is being considered for Salman Rushdie's Booker prize winning book 'Midnight's Children'.

And the role too is big- that of the book's telepathic protagonist in the movie version.

Deepa Mehta whose 'Water' was nominated for the Oscars is going to direct the film. She's is set to finalize the movie's cast with the help of author Salman Rushdie.

The buzz is that Rushdie wants Imran to play Saleem Sinai, the protagonist and narrator who is constantly referred to as 'the nose' in the book because of his enormous and dripping nose. Apparently the Booker winning author feels that Imran has the talent, if not the big nose, to play the central character of the story.

Well, that sure is good news for Imran.

Earlier Deepa's favourite John Abraham was also in contention for the role. But many felt that Johnny boy would look completely out of place playing 'the nose'.

So John's loss could very well be Imran's gain. Let's wait and watch.
