Bunch of 'jokers' have managed to find their 'paagalkhaana'. Even though Shirish Kunder was hunting for one all over the town, he eventually found it closer home. Now, for his film Joker, Capitol Cinema in Mumbai is being converted into an asylum.

Confirms a source, "Shirish was having sleepless nights ever since his art director Samir Chanda met with an untimely death a fortnight ago. Not only did he lose a close associate, but it was also a huge professional loss for him as Akshay's dates were already booked for September and Shirish didn't have a ready set. In fact he and Samir were even contemplating shooting at an asylum in Pune but that plan also fell through. He had no other choice but to hunt for something similar in Mumbai because erecting a fresh set from scratch was out of question."

Shirish couldn't have asked Akshay for change in plans as he is already neck deep with Desi Boyz, Rowdy Rathore and Housefull 2. Post that he is expected to get started with Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 shoot. Meanwhile the release of his international production Speedy Singhs is also round the corner.

"Shirish kept that in mind and spread out his production team to fetch an asylum for him", the source continues, "This is when someone suggested this single screen theatre in Mumbai which is not operational anymore. When Shirish visited the spot, he found a heritage value attached to it and felt that with some art work, it could be converted into an asylum."

As things stand today, work is already in progress at Capitol Cinema.

Laughs Shirish, "We always thought that theatres host audience to watch a film. Never knew that one day I would have to use it as an asylum for a film of mine. I would love to see reactions of Akshay and Sonakshi when they see how a theatre has been converted into an asylum."
