From demure sister-in-law to Sonam Kapoor in Delhi 6 to being the next Bhatt girl, Aditi Rao Hydari has come a long way. Murder 3 revolves round how well you know your lover. We got Aditi to talk about the film, her role and everything in between.

You play a strong willed character in Murder 3. What made you pick the film?
I have always been a strong willed woman. My characters have always had a mind of their own. Roshni in Murder 3 is like that. Roshni gives love the first priority but on the condition that her partner will stay true to her. That is me!

How important is it to know your partner inside-out?
Highly! Successful relationships are built on the depth of knowledge of your partner. That's what Murder 3 talks about.

After Mallika Sherawat, you created a new kissing record in Yeh Saali Zindagi...
I would rather talk about records in acting whenever that happens. I don't mind kissing on screen but at the same time I don't want to be known as a silicone and no substance actress.

Can you forgive cheating in a relationship?
Absolutely not. It is one thing to make a mistake and admit it but quite another living with the consequences of that mistake.

Your character is driven by love not money. What about real life?
'Less love, more sex, no calls, just text, new boy, no ex, more sleep, less stress.' Key words that most of today's relationships are built on. Money can't buy you love but it can buy you substitutes. It's disheartening that girls don't grow up thinking they'll find their prince. Or in some cases, hope it will happen but it's like waiting for a train that will never arrive.

    Is equality important in relationships?
Women are no longer dependent on men. One slip, and either of them can bail out of the relationship. As for me, I'm not a ***** you can walk over.

Murder 3, Presented by Fox Star Studios, Produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Directed by Vishesh Bhatt, Release in Theatres on Feb 15, 2013.
