    Default Bollywood's most public breakups

    Follow us on Social Media

They hold hands; they part ways.
Bollywood is nowhere behind Hollywood when it comes to making affairs public and then breaking off relationships in front of a frighteningly curious nation. Here's a look at some relationships that severed the knots in the public eye:

    Preity-Ness

Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia went all out declaring their affections in rather mature fashion, quite Saif-Kareena like minus the arm-scribbles.

They said they were together, had no plans for marriage and now the tabloids are saying they aren't an item anymore. Apparently they still go to IPL meetings together, but their partnership is now limited to a professional capacity. Ah well.

    Priyanka-Harman

On the other end of the discretion spectrum, Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja kept harping on about being 'good friends' so much that they gave the cliche a bad name.
The actress and the producer's son starred in Love Story 2050, a debacle that made Drona look watchable, and since then, the grapevine suggests that Pri isn't as good a friend as she used to be.

    Aftab-Yana

The fact that Aftab Shivdasani ever managed to get the gorgeous Yana Gupta is a matter of sheer wonderment, but let us assume the man is a catch and it doesn't translate onto the screen.
Still, apparently these two clicked, then un-clicked, and all went southwards eventually. Too bad, but at least single men around the nation can still dream of a Yana-date.

    Freida-Rohan

The tabloids are making her out to be some sort of manipulative vixen, but the fact that Freida Pinto dumped boyfriend Rohan Antao doesn't have to be related to Slumdog Millionaire's success at all.
And then there are inconclusive photos claiming she was married in December 2007. Freida's kept a dignified silence about it all, and it's high time the media left the freshly-discovered starlet alone.

    Shahid-Kareena

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor were one of the industry's most talked about couples, and ended up being Bollywood's most iconic modern-day breakup.
From being merrily photographed canoodling on a beach to gushing about each other on camera, this golden couple with last-name compatibility went on to give us an enduring love story, Jab We Met, just after they broke up.

    Sushmita-Randeep

Sushmita Sen isn't known for her immaculate taste in men, and Randeep Hooda fills in the less than stellar requirements just fine, clearly.
He arrived in Bollywood known as Sush's boyfriend, and while he got some decent notices in movies like D, Hooda remained in the actress' shadow.

That's never the kind of dynamic that keeps a relationship alive, and for things to end was just a matter of time.

    Lara-Kelly

Lara Dutta is fast becoming one of the industry's hottest actresses, but back in the day she and boyfriend Kelly Dorjee were inseparable.
The poised and groomed model deserved an exotic beau, and Dorjee, with his shaven head and clipped accent - not to mention his unique name -- fit the bill perfectly. Unfortunately, even this relationship ended rockily.
