After the famous slap incident and then the patch up between Shirish Kunder and Shahrukh Khan, Farah Khan went ahead and offered Shahrukh her next film. Since the day Farah Khan has announced her next 'Happy New Year' starring Shahrukh Khan in lead, there has been a huge buzz around the film and the developments over it. While there have been a lot of news over its schedule and tentative genre, there have been equal amount of attention being paid to be the casting of the female lead of the film.

Earlier reports came saying that Anushka Sharma has been roped in Farah Khan’s film as a lead opposite Shahrukh Khan, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.

It is learnt that Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi pair were reuniting in Farah Khan’s new film, rumored to be titled Happy New Year, starring former foe and now returned-love Shahrukh Khan. Anushka Sharma, who has made her own niche in B’wood with tough young lady roles after Band Baajaa Baaraat, Badmaash Company and more recently Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, was slated to be the lead in this one.

After the success of Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, everyone who has a liking for massy masala movies was all ready and excited about the new one. And when it was heard from somewhere that Anushka has been chosen for the role, it was expected that both of them would repeat the magic of their first film together.

Farah Khan recently put these rumors to rest when she cleared the air over the female lead. Farh said "There is absolutely no truth in the story. I have no idea where this rumour originated from. It's surprising because I am yet to finalise the girl opposite Shah Rukh. This is truly a figment of somebody's imagination. In fact, the journalists who are writing about this should become screenplay writers; they have some imagination."
