    ~ SUMMARY ~
Adapted from the PC visual novel by KEY of the same name, which was considered one of the first "crying games" ever created. Kanon tells the story of Yuuichi Aizawa, a normal (if a tad sarcastic) high school student who transfers to a cold northern city to live with his aunt and cousin. Seven years prior to the start of the series, Yuuichi spent winter vacations there, but retains no memories of what happened back then. As he attempts to adjust to the lifestyle and temperature of his new home, he meets a number of mysterious girls who may hold the key to unlocking his forgotten memories.

Nayuki Minase. Yuuichi's cousin; fast on her feet, unwilling collector of alarm clocks, sometimes a bit spacey, but with a pure heart that's never lost its affection for Yuuichi after all these years.
Ayu Tsukimiya. Shoplifting girl who talks like a little boy and enlists Yuuichi to help her find something precious she lost, though she knows not what it is.
Makoto Sawatari. Suddenly re-enters Yuuichi's life with a cute little fang and a not-so-effective karate chop. While she declares an undying grudge against Yuuichi and never ceases her pranks on him, Yuuichi is her only anchor in the world, for she too has lost her memories.
Mai Kawasumi. A beautiful older girl with an icy gaze, only one true friend, and a sword that cuts the night to vanquish demons. Yet she is conflicted between what she sees as her duty and her chances to be a normal girl, and her connections with Yuuichi and others around her.
Shiori Misaka. Her poor health prevents her from attending school and becoming close to anyone, even her own family. While she hates people with personalities like Yuuichi's, she exerts herself to stand outside the school just to watch Yuuchi and his world go by.

As Yuuichi experiences these girls fading in and out of his life like singers in a song, he strives to understand them, help them, and maybe even care for them as the mysteries of seven years past slowly come to light.
